About the role
Reporting to the Integration Manager, the Integration Software Engineer will play a key role in delivering smart, scalable IT solutions that drive business outcomes. You'll partner with stakeholders to understand integration needs and contribute to the design and development of systems that enhance connectivity. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects, apply your technical expertise to complex challenges, and help shape the future of Alinta’s integration landscape—all while adhering to our robust design and security principles.

What you’ll do
Design, develop and maintain interfaces across diverse messaging structures and apps
Migrate processes to a central Integration Platform and publish reusable APIs
Deliver integration solutions on time and budget, following security standards
Help define and improve integration development processes and best practices
Support testing efforts to ensure smooth, high-quality system releases
Maintain clear, up-to-date technical documentation for integration systems
Perform database admin tasks for integration platforms (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server)
Monitor and support existing platforms, resolving operational integration issues
Engage in ongoing learning to stay current with tools, platforms, and trends
Your experience
Previous experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform is critical to this role
Demonstrated experience and contemporary knowledge of application development and support of medium to large-scale applications, including experience with development tools
Skills and experience in analysing business processes and requirements, and the ability to prepare functional and technical documentation
Self-motivated, able to work on independent projects to deliver results
The skills required to communicate effectively and build good working relationships with clients and other stakeholders
Knowledge of SDLC techniques and Development languages (Java/C#)
Database SQL skills (Oracle/SQL Server)
Azure Data Factory/SSIS experience
Understanding of System Integrations (APIs/MFT/Web services)
Proven experience in Cloud Development (Azure/AWS)
Experience with CI/CD pipeline creation (GitHub/DevSecOps)
Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.
This role is best suited to a backend software engineer with extensive experience in MuleSoft, looking for a well-rounded role with ongoing learning opportunities.
