About the role

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join Alinta Energy's IT team in a full-time, permanent role. You will work across the Merchant Energy business (Power Generation, including new energy renewables, Trading, and Portfolio Management) and report to the GM Strategy and Architecture. In this key role, you will lead the technology strategy, roadmaps, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions that drive our Merchant Energy business forward.

What you’ll do

• Lead technology strategy and roadmaps for Merchant Energy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, including cloud architecture strategies for scalable energy trading systems
• Develop and implement target-state architecture (1-3 years) and transition roadmaps, guiding the future enterprise architecture and supporting business strategy
• Advise on emerging technologies such as AI/ML, carbon trading platforms, and renewable energy systems to optimize trading decisions and drive innovative energy solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, developing and enforcing robust architecture governance aligned with IT principles.
•  Support development and delivery practices, driving improvements in automation, software quality, and Agile methodologies across Merchant Energy

Your experience

• Extensive expertise in IT architecture is essential, previous energy industry experience (retail, generation, transmission, or trading) is preferred
• Strong ability to build relationships across business units and deliver architectural artifacts that influence decision-making
• Experience with preparing and evaluating RFP/RFI/RFQs for both commercial and technology outcomes
• Certification in industry-recognised frameworks/methodologies such as TOGAF or Zachman
• Experience with AI/ML for predictive maintenance and renewable energy platforms would be highly desirable
